Objective:
I created this short runner game to learn about the basics - and some advanced - features of the Godot platform. The goal was to create a quick, visually appealing game that's reminiscent of the classic but challenging and energetic enough to keep players engaged.
Accomplishments:
Animation: Learned frame-by-frame animation and created original sprites for the game. Created a cohesive set of characters that matched the overall aesthetic.
Education: Established best practices for coding and learning a new design platform. I feel comfortable working with new programs and can navigate the syntax in order to complete the task at hand.

MY SKETCHES

I started with the idea of an adventure game where the player flies around creatures and survives through the environment. After looking at other games and never saw a runner based around nature and animals. Initially I imagines a downwards camera for the dragonfly but opted for a horizontal runner so you could dodge and fly through the three different levels. Once I had my worlds and animal sprites created, I updated the title screen and worked to create a unified design and experience across the game.
